Although formal research on the subject is minimal, many professors agree with the hypothesis that there is a positive correlation between final exams on college campuses and instances of crises, traumas, and family deaths for university students.
The fall semester of 2010 seems to have triggered a pandemic of such scenarios, some of which were retold at a holiday luncheon that my colleagues shared today before posting final grades. While massaging facial muscles sore from laughter, someone said "we should write these down! They're just too good not to share."
Thus was born the "Here's Your Grade" blog, an endearing toast to the creative and often untentionally humorous stories, reasons, excuses, and scenarios that students offer.
